Suzuki has announced its hydrogen motorcycle concept at Tokyo Motor Show last November, and the good news is they are ready to put this unconventional motorcycle into production. The crosscage concept motorcycle is a fuel-cell motorcycle in which a simple, compact, lightweight air-cooled fuel-cell system and a high-performance secondary battery are brought together in a way that realizes optimal power control. A fuel-cell unit from British specialist company Intelligent Energy delivers quick activation with low fuel consumption, and a lithium-ion battery combines safety with a low environmental burden. The simplicity, compactness, and lightness of these technologies not only make the crosscage environment-friendly; they also helped enable sporty styling befitting the Suzuki name.

This motorcycle was developed in conjunction with British Intelligent Energy, which make this a great collaboration since British Intelligent has its own hydrogen generation plants. Energy has a portfolio that includes a range of world-class fuel cell, fuel processing, desulphurization and hydrogen generation technologies. The companys existing home hydrogen generation system means youll be able to make your own hydrogen at home. So I guess this news means you will find this motorcycle in the nearest showroom somewhere near the future.

2010 Ford Fusion

TheCarConnection.com's spy photographers may have gotten one step closer to revealing the face of the new 2010 Ford Fusion with our first shots of a mule completely free of the usual heavy vinyl camouflage. Until now, even the earliest, rough Fusion mules were wearing the heavy front bras, covering their makeshift grilles and front bumpers. Now we can fully assess lines residing beneath the camouflage.

While the front fascia revealed here is obviously an approximation of the final look of the revamped 2010 Ford Fusion, the outlines, cut lines, shapes and relationships are telling. Judging from this mule, it appears that Ford's three-bar grille design may survive, but the look of the 2010 Ford Fusion is very different from the current car. The mule's grille looks much bolder than the current model, with the top grille slat dipping down in the center for something of a "smiley" look. The grille dips down into the front bumper, while the outer edges of the bumper slant upward as they reach the side of the car. Such a slant would necessitate reshaped headlights, to accommodate the new bumper shape.

This mule shows cut lines for tall air inlets at the outer edges of the front bumper, which will also hold place for fog lamps. The shape and positioning of the inlets match perfectly the details seen beneath the camo on prior 2010 Ford Fusion prototypes.

It also appears that the changes will go a bit further than just the front fascia, as a new sharp character line on the front bumper can be seen wrapping around toward the front fender. The new surface development suggests may mean that the new 2010 Ford Fusion will be getting some chunkier front fenders, making the redesign a bit more extensive than a mere mid-cycle facelift. We'll have to wait and see a more finished prototype to confirm this.
2009 Chevrolet Aveo5

Chevrolet's redesigned Aveo5 for the 2009 model year is also getting a redesigned sticker price. The new five-door hatchback from South Korea will start at $12,120, when it goes on sale later this year, GM confirmed today.

The new Aveo lineup uses a 1.6-liter four-cylinder to spin out 106 horsepower via a four-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed manual. Even with the automatic, the Aveo5 musters 25/34 mpg.

Upscale versions of the Aveo include the 1LT version, which gets air conditioning and a $14,255 sticker price; the 2LT is priced from $15,520.

All Aveos for 2009 get tire pressure monitors, OnStar hardware, side airbags and an oil life monitor. Options include steering wheel audio controls, XM satellite radio, a power sunroof, and power heated sideview mirrors.
